Eight held and guns and drugs seized in raids across south east London and Kent
Eight people have been arrested in a series of dawn raids on suspected drug dealers in south east London and Kent.
The suspects, aged between 19 and 40, were held on suspicion of various offences including possession of a firearm, conspiracy to supply Class B drugs, possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, cultivation of cannabis and possession of criminal property.
More than 200 police officers took part in the raids, that saw weapons including four guns, three imitation guns, a stun gun, CS gas and several knives seized.
Eight kilos of cannabis and one kilo of Class A drugs were also found in the raids that took place at 15 addresses on Wednesday, seven in Lewisham, one in Greenwich, one in Bromley and four in Kent.

Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy said: “This operation demonstrates the Met’s commitment to target and take robust action against those involved in drug-related violence.
“The efforts of all the officers and staff involved will make the communities of south east London safer.”
The locations of the raids in south east London were Swallands Road, Grangemill Road, and three properties in Arnulf Street, Bellingham; Oslac Road, Catford; Norman Road, Greenwich; Sevenoaks Road, Crofton Park; Thornford Road, Lewisham; Overbury Avenue, Beckenham and Fairwater Avenue, Bexley.
The raids in Kent were in Mapleton Road, Westerham; Mill Place, Dartford; Gala Avenue, Swanley and Main Road, Sevenoaks.
