Dianne Buswell may have hit headlines for her nasty fall in Strictly Come Dancing training this week, but she wasn’t the only pro dancer to take a tumble.

Viewers may have expected Mike Bushell to be the one to embarrass himself during his Magic Mike-themed Cha Cha Cha, but he was unexpectedly overshadowed by partner Katya Jones who fell over twice in the space of a few minutes.

Not only did she slip on some confetti during their routine, she then ended up in a heap on the floor as she joined host Claudia Winkleman for her post-dance interview.

Many viewers couldn’t help but notice that Jones’ fall happened just as she passed Neil Jones, who she recently announced her split from.

Viewers who thought they’d seen an all-time classic moment on the BBC show were soon put right by Jones, though, who insisted that the second fall was a deliberate moment of slapstick after her first slip up.

In fact, Jones’ talent for fake falls is so great it could win her an Oscar, if this third movie week tumble is anything to go by.

However, a fellow TV star commiserated with his own tale of public shame.

Earlier this week, Buswell took a dramatic fall in training when Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin lost his grip while trying to spin her around his head, dropping her eight feet onto the floor.

Buswell landed on her head and was rushed to A&E, leaving fans nervous about her injuries and Griffin reportedly horrified at the accident.

They needn’t have worried, though, because Buswell made a speedy recovery and thanked fans for their concern, stressing that she didn’t blame her dance partner for the fall.

She and Griffin made it to the live show on Saturday night to perform their couple’s choice routine - the first of the series - inspired by the recent Disney live action remake of Aladdin, which was a huge hit with the judges scoring 36 points.

Another star of the Strictly cast suffering an embarrassing mishap was Anton Du Beke, as Craig Revel Horwood mistook the dancer’s real teeth for a fake pair to match his Austin Powers costume.

Revel Horwood told him: I was slightly distracted by the bad wig and the fake teeth.”

But as host Tess Daly collapsed into giggles, she explained to a mortified Revel Horwood that the teeth were in fact Du Beke’s own.

Strictly Come Dancing returns with the results show on Sunday at 7.15pm on BBC One.
