Ruth Langsford leaves This Morning studio during emotional phone-in

This Morning host Ruth Langsford walked out of the studio during Monday's show after becoming upset about her sister's death.

Ruth slipped out of a phone-in segment as one viewer revealed she with mental health issues.

The presenter became emotional as the call reminded her of her sister Julia, who died in June at the age of 62.

Ruth's husband and co-host Eamonn Holmes said: "Obviously this has featured in Ruth's life. She's upset now and she's had to leave the studio because of her sister who was a chronic depressive and no matter what help or medication as there it didn't seem to make much difference.

"There were good times and bad times."

He later added: "Obviously, these things are very raw for her right now, following the death of her sister."
