Actress feels 'disgust' over being white and privileged

Actress Rosanna Arquette caused quite a on social media on Wednesday when she declared her "disgust" and "shame" over being born "white and privileged".

"I'm sorry I was born white and privileged," the activist tweeted. "It disgusts me. And I feel so much shame."

Arquette was condemned by other web users over the statement, with many pointing out that she is welcome to give her money away to ethnic minorities while others suggested she seek therapy.

A significant number of respondents also accused Arquette of virtue signalling by trying to display her political correctness.

Arquette responded to the intense criticism by making her Twitter account private.

Rosanna, 59, is the daughter of film producer Lewis Arquette and known primarily for her starring in Desperately Seeking Susan, Pulp Fiction, and Crash. She is the sister of David and Patricia, who are also actors.
