New footage of doomed Morandi Bridge collapse in Genoa

Italian police have released new footage showing the moment the Morandi Bridge partially collapsed in Genoa last year, killing 43 people.

The huge concrete structure collapsed in torrential rain in August 2018 after its cable stays gave way, and a number of vehicles that were crossing the bridge at the time were left buried under the rubble.

The incident shocked the country and led to a fierce debate about the state of the country's infrastructure.

The remains of the bridge were demolished in a huge operation at the weekend.
