Woman in pain as breasts won't stop growing

A Thai woman is appealing for help after her breasts have grown uncontrollably due to a mystery condition that has left her in pain.

Lamphrai Srinuan, 46, first noticed her breasts swelling three years ago but thought nothing more of it. Then at the end of last year, her breasts suddenly grew uncontrollably, causing her to suffer chronic shoulder, back, and chest pain.

Her husband, Bunleang, 51, took his wife in April to the Buddhachinaraj hospital in Phitsanulok, central Thailand, where the doctors were also unable to diagnose or treat her.

An examination and a scan also revealed no sign of tumours.

'Every shirt I have doesn't fit me now'

Lamphrai, who has no children, said: ''It's very difficult for me to even sit or lay down to sleep at night. The breasts are getting heavier and that really hurts my neck and my back.

''I don't wear clothes because every shirt I have doesn't fit me now. I only have one large shirt that I wear when I go to the hospital.''

Lamphrai, who has had to stop work harvesting rice, is currently suffering from a joint infection, which worsens her condition as she is unable to walk without crutches. She is also forced to wear a heavy cloth tied behind her neck to support her gigantic bosom.

The woman is worried because her breasts are still growing every day and their weight puts constant pressure on her spine and pain in her nipples.

She appealed for help with medical costs last week and hopes that somebody will be able to cure the condition.
