Nasa orbiter captures Star Trek Starfleet logo on Mars

Nasa's Mars reconnaissance orbiter recently captured an image of a dune footprint that bears an extraordinarily strong resemblance to the Star Trek Starfleet logo.

the team for the orbiter's high-rise camera shared the image via Twitter and quipped, enterprising viewers will make the discovery that these features look conspicuously like a famous logo."

According to Cnet, the crescent-shaped formation shown has a long geologic history. It started as a crescent-shaped dune that became an island in the sea of lava but the sand eventually blew away in the wind.
