Jennifer Aniston has spoken about the last thing she said to Angelina Jolie before her affair with Brad Pitt.
The Friends star's marriage to Pitt ended after four and a half years in 2005 while he was shooting Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Jolie. Pitt, 55, and Jolie, 43, began dating shortly afterwards sparking speculation their affair began on set of the film which features smouldering sexual chemistry.
In an unearthed Vanity Fair interview Aniston spoke about the only time she ever met Jolie, in the car park at the studio where Friends was filmed. Just days later Jolie and Pitt would meet on set of the movie where their 11 year relationship began.
Aniston said of the meeting: "I pulled over and introduced myself.
"I said, 'Brad is so excited about working with you. I hope you guys have a really good time.'"
The 50-year-old actress has admitted that Pitt "checked out emotionally" from their marriage soon after that.
Aniston recalled that not long after meeting Jolie, "he was gone."
Pitt and Jolie have six children together, adopted sons Maddox, 17, and Pax, 15, adopted daughter Zahara, 14, biological daughter Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old biological twins Vivienne and Knox.
The couple split in September 2016 with Jolie filing for sole custody of the children. Pitt is seeking joint custody.
In February this year it was reported that Pitt had attended Aniston's 50th birthday party.
Aniston split from husband Justin Theroux last year following two years of marriage.
Earlier this month Pitt responded to rumours that he and Aniston are rekindling their romance.
In a video shared by Entertainment Tonight when a paparazzi asked about the rumours Pitt laughed: "Oh my God!"
