Prince William describes 'pain like no other' after Diana’s death

Updated

Prince William has spoke about his struggles with bereavement since the death of his mother Princess Diana, during a BBC documentary tackling mental health issues.

The Duke urged people to "relax a little bit and be able to talk about our emotions because we're not robots".

The prince said he always felt like death was 'just around the door' everywhere he went during a frank admission about his mental health.

The father-of-three said dealing every day with families 'having the worst news they could ever possibly have' had left him with a 'very depressing, very negative feeling'.

A Royal Team Talk: Tackling Mental Health airs on BBC One, Sunday at 22.30.
