An actor who has appeared in movies like Thor in 2011 and Terminator: Salvation, has died after jumping from a motorway bridge, after which he was hit by a car.

Police confirmed that 42-year-old Isaac Kappy jumped from the bridge over the Interstate 40 in Bellmont, Arizona.

TMZ reports that 'several bystanders tried physically restraining [him] from jumping but failed to hold him'.

He died at the scene.

A spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Public Safety told People: “On May 13, 2019 at 7.26am, troopers were called to Interstate 40 eastbound at Transwestern Road for a subject who forced himself off the Transwestern Road bridge onto Interstate 40.

“He was then struck by a passing car. The man has been identified as 42-year-old Issac Kappy of Albuquerque, NM.”

The spokesperson added that the incident was being investigated as a suicide.

Kappy played the pet store clerk in 2011's Thor with Chris Hemsworth, and also had roles in Terminator: Salvation, Channing Tatum rom-com 10 Years and US comedian Rachel Dratch's show Late Night Snack.

In a lengthy and rambling post to Instagram two days ago, he admitted to having been 'a pretty bad guy throughout my life'.

“I have betrayed MANY people and much trust. I have sold drugs. I have tax delinquencies. I have debts,” he said. I have abused my body with cigarettes, drugs and alcohol.

“I have been abusive to people WHO LOVED ME, including my family. Earlier this week, I committed an act so flippantly without thought that will become synonymous with short sightedness and petty, vile greed, and in the end, has cost me everything.

“This lesson has come too late for me, but perhaps it can inspire you. I will be using the remainder of my time on earth to atone for my transgressions, and to seek the light within, in others and myself.”

Kappy hit headlines in an incident last year when he allegedly assaulted Michael Jackson's daughter Paris, choking her at a party.

Jackson, a former friend, hired security and moved out of her home after becoming concerned about Kappy's behaviour.
