From Archie to archery – Harry shows off his bow and arrow skills

The Duke of Sussex tried his hand at archery as he was parted from his baby son Archie after heading overseas on an official visit to The Hague.

Proud father Harry travelled to the Netherlands to launch next year’s Invictus Games – a day after he and the Duchess of Sussex showed off Archie Mountbatten-Windsor to the world at a Windsor Castle photocall.

The duke, who joined in a session in the Sportscampus sports hall, fired an arrow close to the centre of the target on his first attempt, which he followed with a high five to the instructor.

The duke was shown two prototype Jaguar Land Rover vehicles which have been adapted with mobility technology.

Harry, whose son was born on Monday, looked relaxed and smiled broadly as he arrived at Zuiderpark in The Hague at 10.55am on Thursday.

The duke was met by Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and chairman of the games Mart de Kruif as he stepped out of the car in front of press and well wishers, some of whom had brought gifts.

There were some shouts of congratulations as he arrived.

Harry also watched a wheelchair basketball training session, where he shook hands and spoke to competitors.

He gave a hug to a young girl who presented him with a gift and letter.

The duke unwrapped the present to reveal a blue and white baby’s cube toy decorated with rabbits.
