The quick reactions of a Hampshire truck driver prevented a certain tragedy when a woman unexpectedly ran into the road in South West London.

Driver Craig Lindop, from Hayling Island, was making his way down Fulham Palace Road in March when the woman suddenly strode out in front of him.

Lindop slammed on the brakes of his 40-tonne car transporter and somehow came to a halt without hitting the unidentified woman.

According to Lindop, she was later taken away in an ambulance, although she was unharmed physically.

Social media users were impressed by Lindop's fast reflexes: "Ninja reactions there. Top man!" said one Facebook user.
