Robbie Williams and Ayda Field have quit the show, after just one season as judges and mentors on the ITV singing competition.

The real-life couple are stepping down in order to concentrate on their own careers, including Williams’ Las Vegas show which started in March 2019.

Talking about the decision on Instagram, the Angels singer told his 1.8 million followers: “We’ve got some very big announcements coming soon – but we can’t reveal all yet. Sadly though it’s impossible to do everything … and we’re gutted to tell you we won’t be able to return to The X Factor this year.”
