In Pictures: Julian Assange through the years

Metropolitan Police officers have arrested Julian Assange at Ecuador’s embassy in London after the country’s government withdrew his asylum.

The WikiLeaks founder spent almost seven years at the embassy after seeking refuge to avoid extradition to Sweden.

The 47-year-old had refused to leave the embassy, claiming he would be extradited to the US for questioning over the activities of WikiLeaks.
