Queen Elizabeth has reportedly banned Meghan Markle from borrowing royal jewels

Another day filled with more royal drama.

Recent reports allege that Queen Elizabeth has "banned" the Duchess of Sussex from borrowing jewels from the royal collection, which holds both the queen and Princess Diana's personal jewellery. It's been revealed that Kate Middleton has access to the jewels, while Meghan doesn't.

The queen's collection, which includes tiaras and other precious family heirlooms, is occasionally loaned to family members for formal occasions, but at the monarch's discretion.

"It is true that Buckingham Palace did not want all the items in the Royal Collection to be opened up to Meghan at this time," explained a source to the Sun. "Obviously, Kate as the next Princess of Wales and a senior member of the family does have them made available to her."

The insider continued: "Aspects of Meghan's behaviour, including before the Royal Wedding, caused resentment with forces within Buckingham Palace. To be perfectly honest, the Queen herself was not impressed with some of Meghan's demands, especially as a new member of the family."

The news comes amongst rumoured tensions within the royal family, with reports of feuds between the two duchesses and alleged rifts between Prince Harry and Prince William surfacing. Reports from Harry and Meghan's May nuptials revealed an argument between the queen and her grandson, where she allegedly denied Meghan's request for a particular tiara.

"What Meghan wants, Meghan gets," Harry was famously quoted as saying.
