Drivers caught at more than 100mph on A9

Four drivers have been reported for speeding at more than 100mph on the A9.

The incidents happened on the dual carriageway near Alvie in the Highlands on Friday evening.

The vehicles were driving between 105mph and 119mph and all four detections were made during routine patrols.

Men aged 18, 34, 37 and 41 will be reported in connection with the offences.

A 60-year-old man will also be reported after a vehicle was detected at 97mph in the same area on Friday evening.

Road Policing Inspector Neil Lumsden said: “I would urge people to take responsibility for their own driving – if you are tempted to speed then consider what the consequences could be of your decision.”

Anyone with concerns about someone’s driving can call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
