Russell Brand's biscuit vagina triumphs at 'Celebrity Bake Off'

Russell Brand has triumphed at The Great Celebrity Bake Off with a biscuit representation of his second daughter’s birth – complete with an edible model of his wife’s vagina and placenta.

The comedian had the judges in stitches as he showed them his biscuit scene of a birthing pool containing a model of his wife, vaginal-shaped biscuits, and a figure of himself watching on.

Despite the unusual design, judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith pronounced the sweet treat delicious and went on to crown him Star Baker, making him the winner of the first heat.

Brand was reunited with old friend Noel Fielding, back to present the celebrity version of the cake contest for Stand Up To Cancer with Sandi Toksvig.

His jokes and one-liners were a hit with viewers, too, as he commented while weighing out flour: “I’m alright with the smaller measurements – I took two grams out of that basically on instinct.”

Pretty much everyone fell in love with Hollywood star John Lithgow, who seemed like the nicest man ever to have graced the Bake Off tent.

Even fellow contestant and comedian Jon Richardson was not immune to his charms, spending the competition trying his hardest to catch Lithgow’s attention, help him out in any way he could, and bag a role in a film with him.

If you’re among the majority of the viewing public who are still scraping their attempt at tonight’s pancakes off the kitchen ceiling, then Lithgow’s attempt at a Swiss roll, which he’d never even heard of, could make you feel a little better.

Fans of the show were also thrilled that Lithgow chose to make a gingerbread Showstopper representing his role as Winston Churchill in The Crown, which gave a nod to his part in Shrek, too.

Meanwhile, Richardson, who often talks about his OCD in his stand-up routines, spent much of the show tidying up and scrubbing down his work bench after each bake.

Paralympian Hannah Cockroft put in a valiant effort, but fell at the final hurdle with a biscuit representation of her gold medal wins at London 2012 that failed to recreate the glory of the moment and was beaten to the win by Brand.

Brand now goes through to the final of the contest, where he’ll bake against the winners of the forthcoming first rounds.

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer continues on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
