Cyclist who died after Highland road crash named

A cyclist who died after being hit by a car in the Highlands has been named.

Hanno Garbe was riding a bicycle on the B9152 near Loch Alvie, between Aviemore and Kincraig, at around 3.25pm on Monday when he was struck by a Kia Picanto.

Police Scotland said the 57-year-old from Aviemore died in hospital on Tuesday.

The driver of the silver car was not hurt.

Road Policing Sergeant Gus Murray said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Garbe’s family and friends at this time.

Our enquiries into this collision are ongoing and we would continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.

“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage.”
