Kelly Stewart, a 27-year-old woman who works at a Taco Bell in upstate New York, has taken her role at the fast food restaurant and used it to brighten customers’ days.

“I got this message that said ‘when you reach the end of your rope tie a knot around it and hang on— Franklin D. Roosevelt,”’ Heather O’Donnell, who recently ordered at the drive-through, told Syracuse.com. “It made me stop in my tracks and smile. Knowing someone took time out of their work or life to write this is another example that there are still good people out there.”

The writer of the message was none other than Stewart, who started working at the Taco Bell last fall. “I enjoy people,” she told Syracuse.com. “I like helping them make each day better. And it’s important for me to set a good example for my six-year-old son. Sometimes life can be tough, and I like looking up quotes and writing them out for people.”

Customers have noticed this simple act of kindness and have begun sharing the messages they receive on social media.

After Syracuse.com reported the story, many commenters are hopeful that Stewart will get a nod from Taco Bell corporate.

As one commenter wrote on the Syracuse.com story, “For some customers I’m sure the kind comment meant more than the food. Well done, Kelly!”
