Camilla ‘grows wings’ on visit to Liverpool

The Duchess of Cornwall grew wings during a visit to Liverpool – albeit with the help of artist Paul Curtis.

Like thousands before her, Camilla posed for a picture in front of a mural of a pair of wings called For All Liverpool's Liver Birds.

The spot in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle is popular with visitors to the Merseyside city who cannot resist posting their pictures on social media.

Mr Curtis told the Liverpool Echo newspaper he was still coming to terms with the royal photocall involving his street art.

He said: "It's all a bit bizarre, it still hasn't sunk in a little.

"It's great that she has come to Liverpool, that's the main thing. It's great that she has paid an interest in what happening in the Baltic area.

"For me it's an honour to have someone like that notice the wings."

The duchess' visit to the popular mural came at the end of a day spent in Liverpool with the Prince of Wales celebrating the city's people, culture and history.
