Phillip Schofield hits back at Dancing on Ice 'fix' claims

Dancing on Ice co-host Phillip Schofield has hit back over claims that the show's results are 'fixed.' The 56-year-old presenter said that the show was categorically not fixed in a series of Twitter responses to one viewer's allegations.

The latest 'fix' conspiracy occurred during Sunday evening's episode when Schofield was filmed comforting a crying Gemma Collins.

Devastated by receiving low scores, he told her: "Listen we've got next week as well. You've got the whole week."

However, the voting lines had not closed or the results announced, sparking online conspiracies that the ITV show had rigged Collins to go through to another week regardless of the voting results.

But Schofield says this is absolutely not the case, and singled out one Twitter user to rubbish the conspiracy theories.

He wrote: 'We say that to everyone! You are hilarious with your conspiracy theory. I only know the result as I say it.'

And in another rebuttal to the same user her wrote that it was 'illegal to fix shows and I wouldn't work on one that was.'

He then replied: 'We are independently adjudicated!!! All votes are checked and agreed by an independent company.'

This isn't the first time Dancing on Ice has been met with fakery claims this year. Just last week Gemma Collins was again at the centre of fixing allegations.

Many users took to Twitter to accuse her dramatic fall as 'fake.' Some thought it appeared too choreographed, and was simply created to gain more sympathy for the star, especially as she got into a heated spat with judge Jason Gardiner just the week prior.

Dancing on Ice continues on ITV at 6pm on Sunday.
