Stinging delivery! Bees stop play during England Lions cricket match

This is the bizarre moment that bees stopped play during the fourth one-day cricket match between India A and England Lions.

Play reportedly came to a halt during the 28th over of the England Lions innings, which was being played at the Green Field International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday (January 29).

Five spectators were reportedly admitted to hospital after the incident in the top tier of the west stand.

The bees came out after their nest was likely disturbed and attacked the spectators. Soon the bees started swarming over to the boundary ropes forcing the deep fielders to run for cover.

India A coach Rahul Dravid, who was walking around the ground at the time of the attack, also had to sprint back to his dugout. The players were forced to stop play and gathered in the centre of the pitch to wait for the bees to move on.

The five injured fans were taken to Ananthapuri Hospital and all other fans in the west stand were relocated to other stands as play resumed at 11:15am.
