Debate over how people draw X lights up the Internet

A Twitter user has caused an Internet storm after posting a graphic online and asking the correct way to draw an X.

The question prompted interest from across the world after going viral, and what started as an unusual question exploded into a viral conumdrum with interesting results.

The poster offered eight options with the coloured line the first line to be drawn. What the original poster discovered was that there were national variations in how people decided to draw their X.

The general consensus was that Americans drew Xs like 7 and 8 while the UK drew them like 5 and 6. While the results aren't exactly scientific the difference may be down to how it's traditionally been taught to children in school.
