Five must-see TV highlights for the week ahead
January is packed with top TV - there are brand new series getting underway, the Premier League title race is the closest it's been for years and there are great film releases on TalkTalk TV that you may have missed at the cinema. Here are our recommendations:
1. The House with a Clock in its Walls - Available to Own now on TalkTalk TV
Starring Cate Blanchett and Jack Black, this magical adventure tells the tale of 10-year-old Lewis who goes to live with his uncle Jonathon in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. Initially bored by his new town, its sleepy façade soon jolts to life when Lewis accidentally awakens the dead. Fortunately for Lewis the feisty Mrs Zimmerman is a powerful wielder of magic. Normally known for his gory horror films, director Eli Roth has taken an entertaining detour with this family friendly offering.
2. Live Premier League including Man City v Wolves - Monday at 8pm on Sky Sports Premier League
Sky Sports will continue to show an incredible amount of live Premier League football this year including their flagship Monday Night Football offering featuring pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher. This week's fixture will see Pep Guardiola's men try to keep up the pressure on their title rivals by taking care of Premier League new boys Wolverhampton in what should be a stylish game between two technically gifted teams.
If Sky Sports is not currently part of your TalkTalk TV package, you can add the flexible Sky Sports Boost, a month at a time, giving you access to eight Sky Sports channels. There's no long-term commitment and they're easy to add through your TV box. There's also the opportunity to buy a ringside view of the biggest boxing clashes via Sky Sports Box Office. Watch the world's best sporting action - live!
3. Catastrophe - Tuesdays at 10pm on Channel 4
Back for a fourth and final season, the wonderfully dysfunctional couple played by Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney are still together, just about. Following the calamitous end to the last series we find Rob is now in court laying out the 'extenuating circumstances' for his drink driving - many of which involve denigrating Sharon.
