Man charged in West Bromwich murder probe

Police have charged a 34-year-old man with assisting the suspected murderer of June Jones.

Keith O’Dwyer, aged 34, of Beaconview Road, West Bromwich, will appear before Walsall magistrates on Saturday.

Police found the body of Ms Jones, 33, on the Charlemont Farm estate, at around 2am on December 31.

Ms Jones had been in a relationship with Michael Foran, 32, who is wanted by police on suspicion of murder.

Police say there was evidence of a “sustained and brutal assault with a weapon”.

Police have been hunting for Mr Foran, who is believed to have travelled to Liverpool in the aftermath of Ms Jones’ disappearance.

Det Insp Warren Hines, of West Midlands Police, who is leading the murder investigation, said: “I’m pleased with the response to our appeal from the public and we’ve had several calls with potential sightings of Foran, which we are thoroughly investigating.

“If anybody is thinking of helping him, they can expect to be arrested and charged.”
