Second arrest over £1m drug find

A second arrest has been made over a £1 million ecstasy discovery in Aberdeen.

The National Crime Agency and Police Scotland discovered 45kg of MDMA and arrested a 22-year-old man in the Rosemount area of the city on Friday.

Detectives said it was an “intelligence-led operation” and inquiries are continuing.

A second man, aged 26, has now also been arrested and charged over the find.

They are both due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The 26-year-old is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today along with a 22-year-old who was charged last week following intelligence-led enforcement action led by Police Scotland officers, officers from North East Police Division alongside the National Crime Agency.”
