Man arrested and charged after alleged metal bar ‘attack’

A man has been arrested and charged after a man was allegedly attacked with a metal bar.

The 52-year-old was walking along Dixon Avenue in the Govanhill area of Glasgow with his partner when the attack happened at around 9.10pm on Sunday.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the city’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where medical staff describe his condition as stable.

Police said a 52-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
