Christmas Week is here and brings with it some of the best TV of the year. Here are our recommendations:

1. Call the Midwife - Christmas Day at 7.45pm on BBC One

This special episode of the BBC's wildly popular period drama will see Trixie return to Nonnatus House, reuniting with Sister Winifred and her team. What's more, series 8 will begin in January. Huzzah!

2. Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special - Christmas Day at 5.30pm on BBC One

Six iconic contestants from the past will be returning to the ballroom on Christmas Day for a festive spectacular on BBC One. The theme for this year's theme is fairytales and among the celebrities returning are Caroline Flack, Anita Rani and Anne Widdecombe.

3. The Naughty and Nice collection feat. Elf on TalkTalk TV

4. Black Mirror - New series - Netflix from Friday

Charlie Brooker's multiple Emmy award-winning series is returning to bring us another set of dark tales from the near future. This time there are rumours of a star turn from Miley Cyrus and an interactive episode which will let viewers choose which action the main character should take.

5. Delicious - Fridays at 9pm on Sky One

Dawn French and Emilia Fox are back for a third series of this enjoyable drama set at a high-end hotel in Cornwall. The pair of widows, with a former husband in common, will continue to be tested by their odd couple dynamic and the arrival of a rich and handsome restaurateur played by Vincent Regan.
