A 13-year-old boy was caught driving a stolen car at speeds of up to 100mph, police have said.

He was apprehended at the end of a high-speed police chase during which he had attempted to give officers the slip.

The boy was behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf which was taken during a burglary in Shipley, near Bradford, an officer said.

West Yorkshire Police officers pursued it at high speeds for about five miles before bringing it to a halt with spikes in the early hours of Monday morning.
