Millie Bobby Brown defends friendship with Drake

Actress Millie Bobby Brown, 14, has blasted critics after she revealed she and Drake, 31, are close pals who text each other regularly.

Speaking at the Emmy bash on Monday, the Stranger star actress said therapper is a "great role model" to her.

"I love him. I met him in Australia, and he's honestly so fantastic," she told Access Hollywood. "We just texted each other the other day and he was like, 'I miss you so much,' and I was like, 'I miss you more.' He's great."

She also said the pair talk "about boys" and the Canadian star gives her dating advice.

When quizzed about what type of advice, she joked: "That stays in the text messages."

After the interview went viral and some suggested their friendship was unusual because of their age difference, Millie responded.

"Why u gotta make a lovey friendship ur headline?" she wrote on a note posted on her Instagram stories on Thursday. "U guys are weird... for real."

She continued: "I'm lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance. I'm very blessed to have amazing people in my life. U don't get to choose that for me.

"It's nice to have people understand what I do."
