'Drink driver' brake-checks HGV in terrifying manoeuvre on the M18

This is the moment a driver performs a dangerous "brake-check" on an HGV – before being arrested for drink driving.

Dash cam footage captured on the M18 northbound outside of Doncaster shows a white Renault Megane overtaking a truck before cutting in sharply and applying the brakes – known as a "brake-check".

The reportedly unprovoked manoeuvre causes the HGV to brake drastically – but doesn't stop it from slamming straight into the back of the hatchback, causing light damage.

Both vehicles pull over to the hard shoulder, where the Megane driver confronts the HGV driver, calling the police due to the damage to his vehicle.

But the Megane driver was reportedly arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The footage was captured on July 13.
