Five must-see TV highlights for the week ahead

Need a fresh series to get your teeth into? There are some great shows returning to our screens this week - including a brand new historical drama:

1. Sick Note - Series 2 - Thursdays at 10pm on Sky One

Sky's star-studded dark comedy returns for a second series with Daniel, played by Rupert Grint, and Dr Iain Glennis, played by Nick Frost, still trying to keep an accidental murder and misdiagnosis under wraps. A certain Lindsay Lohan is set to join the cast this season. She'll be playing Katerina West, the daughter of Daniel's boss.

2. Orange is the New Black - Series 6 - available from Friday on Netlfix

The sixth season of this Golden Globe-winning comedy drama finds the inmates of Litchfield prison dealing the consequences of their riot. Several of the characters are now having to get used to completely new surroundings.

3. Ready Player One (Cert PG) - Own now on TalkTalk TV

You can now Own this Steven Spielberg sci-fi action-adventure based on Ernest Cline's bestselling novel, via your TalkTalk TV box or online.

Set in 2045, with the Earth in turmoil, many people have found an escape via the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe. Upon the death of its creator, a contest is set in motion to find who will become the new controller of the OASIS. When teenager Wade Watts conquers the first challenge of the reality-bending treasure hunt, he and his friends are hurled into a fantastical adventure of discovery and danger.

4. Wyonna Earp - Series 3 - Fridays at 9pm on 5Spike

This female-led action series has proved a huge cult hit and the whiskey-swilling, quip-spouting demon slayer is now back for a third series. Wyonna not only has Revenants, the resurrected souls of the criminals taken down by her great-grandfather, to contend with, but also her unexpected newborn child conceived with Doc Holliday.

5. Knightfall - new series - Tuesdays at 9pm on The History Channel

This action-packed period drama delves deep into the world of the Knights Templar, a legendary brotherhood of warrior monks. From their battles in the Holy Land, to protecting Christianity's most prized relic, the Holy Grail, this series tells the full story of the group's rise and fall.
