Massive blaze consumes Germany's biggest theme park

A huge fire has broken out at Germany's biggest theme park, sparking fears of casualties.

Footage shows flames and smoke rising into the air from the Europa amusement park in Rust.

The attraction is the largest theme park in the country and the second most popular in Europe, following Disneyland Paris.

Initial reports suggest no-one has been hurt but emergency services are said to be calling in more help.

Michael Wege from the local fire department said: "The fire is still spreading strongly.

"We are not in control of the situation yet.

"We are in the process of drafting more forces."

A police spokesman reportedly said several rides as well as a warehouse were burning.

Europa-Park later tweeted: "According to the current state of knowledge, there are no injuries."
