A teenager has been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent after two boys were stabbed in a seaside town centre.

The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is also charged with attempted GBH in connection with the incident in Littlehampton, West Sussex.

He is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court later.

Police were called to Terminus Road at 2.45pm on Wednesday where they found three injured boys in the nearby High Street.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy suffered serious injuries after they were stabbed and both remain in a stable condition at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

"A third victim, a 16-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries as part of the same incident.
