Brazen burglary suspects stream live footage of car chase with police

A gang of suspected burglars shared the trials and tribulations of a high-speed police chase with the world, as they streamed video footage live on Facebook. As the driver recklessly fled from the pursuing cops – or 'bizzies' – his front seat passenger filmed the events and even found time to 'like' comments left on the video.

Watching in real time, Facebook users were able to comment on the chase, with many requesting that the driver detour in order for them to see it live. "Go down Ford Lane lad, we're filming," commented one. "Go past, we're outside," said another.

The man behind the camera kept up a running commentary, saying "Look how many bizzies are behind us," and telling viewers how following police were trying to box them in.

Up to 10 vehicles were said to be behind the fleeing car, with the camera operator regularly turning the phone around to show the flashing blue lights of the pursuing offers.

The chase took place around the Merseyside area, with the five suspected thieves driving a Ford Mondeo. The man filming at one point claims "We've done nothing wrong anyway."

The chase lasted around 45 minutes in total, with five men – the driver, aged 28, and 21, 19, 17 and 16-year-old passengers, were all arrested on suspicion of burglary.
