RM Sotheby’s to sell off Alfa Romeo 8C Coupe and Spyder in one auction

Two of the most beautiful Alfa Romeos of modern times are heading to auction later this year. RM Sotheby's upcoming Monaco sale, held in May at the Grimaldi Forum on the principality's seafront, will offer both Coupe and Spyder models of the gorgeous Alfa Romeo 8C for sale.

The stunning cars are two of just 1,000 produced worldwide. Just 500 examples each of the hard-top Coupe and convertible Spyder made it to production, making them highly sought-after by collectors.

The cars share the same underpinnings. They're based on a platform shared with the Maserati Granturismo, but cloaked in Alfa Romeo's own carbon-fibre bodywork.

Underneath the car's long bonnets sit a 4.7-litre V8 engine supplied by Ferrari. They produce 444bhp and 480Nm of torque, capable of 0-60mph in around four seconds and a top speed of 181mph.

For the car's price of well in excess of £100,000, driving dynamics were sadly lacking, but totally made up for by the car's supermodel looks, total exclusivity and incredible noise.

The two on offer from RM Sotheby's appear to be in immaculate condition. The listing notes that the two are 'in exemplary condition throughout' and 'already being heralded as a modern classic'. No auction estimates have been released.
