In Pictures: Lindisfarne still a place for learning amid latest restoration

Lindisfarne, or Holy Island, is still revealing its secrets as it nears the conclusion of a major restoration project.

The island's castle has been shrouded in scaffolding as workers give a facelift to the Northumberland attraction.

Paintings dating back hundreds of years are among the discoveries made by those carrying out the work on the site.
