A new study of 2,000 motorists has discovered the areas of the country that are the worst for committing traffic offences. Commissioned by car finance provider Vantage Leasing, the study quizzed drivers across the country on various bad driving habits, as well as how many points they had on their licences and how many times it took them to pass their driving test.

It found that Welsh drivers tend to be the fastest on the roads – or perhaps Wales has the most omniscient traffic police. Either way, 45 per cent of those in Wales have been ticketed for driving over the speed limit. Scottish drivers were at the opposite end of the spectrum, and just 26 per cent have been caught speeding.
