Audi has unveiled the eighth-generation of its popular A6 saloon, revamping the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class competitor into a high-tech and luxurious mini-limousine. The new A6 brings sophisticated tech and mild hybrid engines to the class for the first time – albeit without the fully electrified plug-in hybrids offered by its main rivals.

In keeping with the firm's move towards electrification, two engines will be available – both with a mild hybrid system. They comprise a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol with 335bhp and 500Nm of torque or a 282bhp diesel with 620Nm of torque. They offer 35.1mpg and 40.6mpg respectively.
