Five must-see TV highlights for the week ahead


An exciting police drama starring Sarah Parish will keep you glued to your sofa on four consecutive nights this week, leading you into a weekend featuring the Strictly final and some mouth-watering football fixtures.

1. Bancroft - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9pm on ITV1

Sarah Parish returns to our screens to star as DCI Bancroft in this explosive four-part drama. While the respected senior officer is trying to bring down a vicious drug gang, a younger colleague investigating a cold case stirs up some very dark secrets from Bancroft's past.

2. The World's Most Expensive Presents - Tuesday at 9pm on Channel 4

3. Strictly Come Dancing - Saturday at 6:30pm on BBC1

We've reached the grand final of this year's competition! Alexandra Burke, Debbie McGee, Gemma Atkinson and Joe McFadden will strut their stuff alongside their partners in a bid to take home the coveted glitterball trophy. Ed Sheeran is set to make an appearance too, hope he's got his dancing shoes!

4. West Brom vManchester United and Bournemouth v Liverpool - Sunday from 2:15pm on Sky Sports Premier League

Sky Sports viewers can enjoy two eye-catching fixtures live this Sunday. First Alan Pardew will lead his new-look West Brom side against a United team desperate to make up ground on league leaders City. Then Jurgen Klopp's free-scoring Liverpool are on the south coast to face Eddie Howe's stuttering Cherries. Could we be in for another goal-fest?
