Sophie Winkleman, who is married to Lord Frederick Windsor, suffered a broken back and foot in the collision, according to the Daily Mail.

The 37-year-old was filming new series Trust when a car crashed into her chauffeur-driven vehicle as the driver swerved to avoid a deer.

According to the Daily Mirror, Sophie, whose father-in-law is the Queen's cousin Prince Michael of Kent, was rushed to hospital after the incident near Saffron Walden.

It was feared that the mum-of-two was seriously injured due to the damage to the vehicle.

She faces weeks of recovery following the crash which happened ten days ago.

A source told the Daily Mail: "It was a terrible shock for the whole family. Freddie's looking after their two girls while Sophie recovers. It will be a long road for her, but we're all so thankful that she's been told there won't be any long-term problems."
