Did your car pass its last MOT? There's a good chance it didn't – MOT failure rates in 2016 were at 36.8 per cent. And now, new research has revealed the most common reasons for cars to fail.

A study of over 19 million MOT records was compiled by service comparison site MyCarNeedsA.com, and found the causes of failure for vehicles. It found that an incredible 27.6 per cent of MOT failures in 2016 were caused by faulty lamps and reflectors. That's over five million cars in a single year.
