We're counting down the days until British icon David Attenborough returns to our screens on 29 October for the seven-part series. This time, viewers will explore the oceans of the world and some of the best moments will feature the bird-catching Giant Trevally fish, dancing Mobula rays and hunting Humboldt squid.

Dive with whale sharks off Tanzania

Episode seven sees scientists undertake the task of measuring the largest fish in the ocean: the whale shark. These magnificent creatures can grow up to 12 metres long and weigh over 20 tonnes. Spot green turtles in Borneo

Those keen to view the green turtle in Borneo, as seen close up in Blue Planet 2, can enjoy some of the world's finest wildlife-viewing experiences, including turtles. Green turtles are named after the colour of their skin and shell and aside from these wonderful creatures, Borneo allows travellers to spot orangutans, pygmy elephants, monitor lizards, as well as watch turtles hatch on the remote island of Selingan Turtle Island. Meet puffins on Skomer Island

Some of the amazing wildlife featured in Blue Planet 2 is the creatures found along the world's coasts, such as the Atlantic puffin on Hornoya Island in Norway. If you'd rather stay closer to home to view puffins, they can be seen on Wales' Skomer Island. The island plays a vital part to the puffin population and although the species is declining in other parts of the world, 2017's puffin count on Skomer was the highest since modern records began, with a whopping 25,227 individuals. The largest puffin colonies are in North Haven, West of Garland Stone, The Wick and between High Cliff and South Stream. Day visits to the island are possible during spring and summer, although wildlife lovers wishing to spend the night can stay in a converted barn with space for up to 16 people from just £30 per person with the Wildlife Trust.

Go wild in New Zealand

New Zealand features in episode one, where viewers are shown different oceans around the world, from the tropics to frozen waters. Home to almost half the world's whale and dolphin species, New Zealand is one of the best destinations for travellers hoping to spot different marine life in its natural habitat.
