Salvator Mundi, or Savior of the World, is a 16th century work of art by Leonardo da Vinci.

It's one of less than 20 surviving paintings from the Renaissance master.

It portrays an adult Jesus, holding an orb and pointing to the heavens and is exquisitely detailed.

It will soon go up for auction at Christie's, where it is expected to fetch $100 million.
