Man stabbed outside children's party critical in hospital

A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed outside the venue of a child's birthday party.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the 53-year-old was attacked close to Chandlers Community Hall in Lambeth, south London at around 9.30pm on Saturday.

He was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital where his condition is critical, Scotland Yard said.

A force spokeswoman said: "The victim had attended a child's birthday party at the community hall and was stabbed outside the venue.

"Detectives do not believe that the suspect had attended the birthday party."
