Mother says she's proud 10-year-old daughter killed bear

A family have come under scrutiny after their 10-year-old daughter killed a huge black bear.

Despite some backlash on social media, an Arkansas mother has said that she's proud of her daughter's big accomplishment.

"I've hunted many animals, but I've never killed or seen something like this before," Ayla Highfill told InsideEdition.com.

Highfill, who is only a quarter the size of the black bear, was photographed standing over her kill after a hunt with her dad.
