Creepy figures in Finnish field spotted on Google Maps

An unusual, even creepy scene can be spotted on a Google Maps view of a field in Finland, reports The Sun.

While the flat plain may initially appear to be populated with a crowd of colorfully dressed people, it is actually home to nearly a thousand faceless scarecrows.

The figures are part of an art installation called 'The Silent People' which is situated in Suomussalmi.

According to the town's website, the project was initially unveiled in 1988 by artist Reijo Kela, and, after being presented at a few different locations throughout Finland, was settled in its current home in 1994.
