Five must-see TV highlights for the week ahead
This week sees the return of Lord Sugar and the latest bunch of budding Apprentice candidates ready to amuse and amaze with their enormous egos. Elsewhere, England could secure qualification for the 2018 World Cup and the Have I Got News For You teams are back to get their satirical teeth into the week's news.
1. Alphabetical - weekdays at 3pm on ITV1
Jeff Stelling is your host for a second series of this quick-fire quiz in which contestants must tackle questions where the answers all start with a certain letter. Based on Spain's wildly popular Pasapalabra, the format has been tweaked slightly for 2017. ITV will be hoping this becomes as popular as The Chase and Tipping Point.
2. The Apprentice - Wednesday at 8pm on BBC One
A new set of besuited bods will be made to look like buffons as they compete to win a £250,000 investment and Lord Sugar as their business partner. Once again Baroness Karren Brady and Claude Littner will be on hand to cast disapproving looks as the gruelling 12-week selection process gets underway with a food production challenge. Get to know this year's candidates here.
3. England v Slovenia - Thursday at 7:30pm on ITV1
Viewers will be praying this encounter is little more lively than the goalless draw these countries played out in the reverse fixture (see 'highlights' above). Gareth Southgate's will be keen for his young side to grab all three points as a win will guarantee the nation's spot in the finals next summer.
4. Have I Got News For You - Friday at 9pm on BBC One
Paul Merton, Ian Hislop and a star-studded line-up of guest presenters return for yet another series of this classic panel show, and they certainly have a packed news week to get their teeth into. It's party conference season, President Trump is still in the White House and Brexit negotiations are grinding along in Brussels.
