Ex-BBC Trust chief Rona Fairhead appointed as International Trade minister
Former head of the BBC Trust Rona Fairhead has been appointed as a Government minister, Downing Street has said.
Ms Fairhead, who will be made a life peer, will be a minister of state at the Department for International Trade.
Her post as a minister will be unpaid.

Ms Fairhead stood down as chairman of the BBC Trust in 2016 after then newly installed Prime Minister Theresa May indicated she would have to reapply for the post.
David Cameron had reappointed Ms Fairhead to the BBC role four months previously when he was still in Downing Street.
Ms Fairhead decided not to go back into the BBC Trust appointment process, saying that a "clean break" would allow the Government to choose someone else for the post.
Downing Street has also announced that Sir Theodore Agnew has been made an unpaid parliamentary under secretary of state at the Education Department.
