One of M5 fatal crash victims was father travelling with his family

One of the four people who died in a crash on the M5 was a father who was travelling with his partner and two children, police said.

Adrian Beaumont, 46, from Bristol, was driving a Seat Leon with his partner, 42, and their two children, aged 10 and 12, also in the car.

Four people were killed in the incident, between junctions 16 and 14 on the M5 in south Gloucestershire, on Saturday.

A lorry travelling southbound went through the central reservation and collided with at least two cars heading in the opposite direction.

Avon and Somerset Police said Mr Beaumont died at the scene.

A force spokesman said: "His partner and the two children remain in hospital. The children are now in a stable condition, however his partner is still described as critical. The family have asked for privacy at this very difficult time."
